Welcome to the 23rd issue of Portfolio Magazine. Summer is so close to being over. It’s rough, I know.
However, there is something special about the unique scent of the desert after a monsoon storm. It’s
almost like a reward for bearing the brunt of the heat. While we wait for the oven to cool down we
focus on our sensational list of properties this summer. While it’s a bit too hot for a hike, it’s the perfect
time to sit down with a cool drink and take a trip through Portfolio.
We’re featuring several outstanding properties in this issue. The first featured property, on page 10,
is a piece of heaven in Clearwater Hills. “Mountainside Masterpiece” on page 14 highlights a lovely
Santa Fe on Mummy Mountain. A fine European estate with views from every room starts on page

On page 26, our Creative Director, Gary Edlund, touches base with one of the Valley’s most prestigious
interior design companies in the Valley, Est Est, Inc. The article is a question and answer session he had
with them to give you some insight into the complex world of interior design. Plus, he explores one of
their more recent, and truly amazing, projects at Baker Park.
As usual you’ll find our quarterly report where we take a closer look at the status of the luxury home
market and what it means for you.
The Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley has been a centerpiece development in town for a decade.
What’s the latest, you ask? Andrea Kalmanovitz provides us with an update on this 122-acre
master planned community. Ultra-high-end retail, residential and restaurant components will soon
be joining our community. Turn to page 36 for an informative overview of Paradise Valley’s most
prestigious development.
And finally, we highlight a property from Christie’s International Real Estate found in Mexico. This
beach front property is a gem situated only 40 minutes away from the famous town of Tulum, Mexico,
which happens to be a favorite retreat among celebrities looking to escape the limelight. See page 78.
