Stays in the US” by Conde Nast Traveler, Cypress
Inn combines Old World hospitality and service with
modern comforts and amenities. The 1920s Spanishstyle
boutique hotel is co-owned by legendary singer,
actress and animal activist Doris Day and Dennis
LeVett. Cost: Pet fees range from $30 for one pet
per night, to $50 for two pets per night, up to $70
for three pets, and all include a custom dog blanket,
bowls and treats.
Playtime: Wander off property throughout pawfriendly
Carmel-by-the-Sea, or along no-leash, picturesque
Carmel Beach. Find additional doggie pick-up
bags and an “aprés-beach” canine shower behind the

Pampering: The Inn opens non-dining indoor spaces
to pets, including the “living room” where they host

Paséa Hotel and Spa cossets Orange Coast
visitors with posh services set amidst the
stunning seaside backdrop of Huntington

interactive pup play park called The PAWSÉA
last November. The 1,100-square-foot,
fenced-in outdoor play area is reserved for
the exclusive use of pets registered to the
hotel. Guests of the hotel may romp with
their fuzzy companions off-leash at their
leisure in this state-of-art facility outfitted
with a lifeguard station, dog house and a local
artist-commissioned wall mural; it features
dog angel wings for whimsical Instagram
travel photos. For frothy fun, meander two
miles down the road to famed Huntington
Dog Beach, where dogs may frolic leash-free
among the crashing waves of Surf City U.S.A.

Ingredients
3 lbs. lean ground
organic turkey
2 C. sweet potato,
peeled and grated
½ C. green beans,
chopped into
1-inch pieces
¼ C. celery,
chopped into
1-inch pieces
2 C. spinach leaf
½ C. rolled oatmeal
¼ C. ground golden
flax
3 whole eggs

Directions
• Preheat oven to 350° F
(177° C).
• Combine all ingredients
together, and mix until well
blended.
• Place mixture into two
8-inch x 4-inch x 2 ½-inch
loaf pans. Each should be
about three-quarters full.
• Bake for one hour or until
the internal temperature
reaches 170 degrees. Cool
down for an hour, then
drain off any grease and
serve.
