ooking for a little escape this holiday season? You’re not alone. So is the dog.
Our best four-legged friends can always use a change of scenery, not to mention
some pampering, especially when things get a little frantic around the
house. There’s the sudden arrival of hordes of family and friends, a cascade
of tempting but hard-to-digest food scraps to gobble up from floors and kind
hands. There’s loud music and cross-talk, and often visiting children who can
rattle any pets’ nerves and invade their space without intending to.
A few days of relaxation and indulgence is all it takes to shed holiday stress.
We’ve roamed the state to bring you six stylish pet-friendly
California hotels that supply standout pet services transcending
the usual bowl of water and a chew toy. To make sure
Rover is secure and comfortable en route, we solicited the
advice of award-winning dog trainer Jas Leverette, founder
of California K9 Solutions (www.calik9.com) in San Jose. He
recommends using a crate as a safe pet haven while traveling.
