Triton Free Fridays Triton Museum of Art, 1505 Warburton Ave., Santa Clara, tritonmuseum.org The Museum: For 50 years the Triton Museum of Art has housed one of the area’s premier collections of works by Californian artists, including many from the Bay Area and Northern California. It includes rotating exhibitions, as well as a permanent collection of contemporary art, as well as a seven-acre sculpture garden. The Event: The Triton Museum flings open its doors and invites all ages from the community into a gallery-turned-theater for free musical, dance and theatrical performances, usually on the first Friday of the month during spring, summer and fall. The acoustics inside the Warburton Gallery beautifully enhance live music. Dance performances take on a special aura as dancers move gracefully with stunning art as a backdrop. Past entertainment has included international and folk dance groups, guitarists, pianists, symphonic groups and theater troupes. Organizers often choose performance artists who uniquely connect with the local cultural resources and history. Guests can purchase wine and other beverages, and enjoy appetizers.
