Walt Danley Realty Presents
PORTFOLIO
Welcome to the 27th issue of Portfolio Magazine. Hard to believe that summer is nearly over and
fall is close enough that you can taste it. Summers in the Valley are hot, and to say we have some hot
properties would be an understatement. Please excuse the pun, but I couldn’t resist.
I love showing off the unique and special properties we have to offer. The first featured property,
on page 10, is a beautiful and an extremely private estate on nineteen acres, which was designed by
Terry Kilbane. “Santa Fe Splendor” begins on page 16 with a Santa Fe style home, complete with
liveable architecture and bright, vibrant colors. From our private inventory comes an impeccable estate
in Paradise Valley that is “Uniquely Elegant,” and found on page 20. A modern hacienda, which
happened to be featured on “Cool House” on Fox News Channel 10, and in case you missed the
segment you can catch up on all the amazing features on page 34, especially with its unique ability
to bring the outdoors inside. Finally, our last featured property is “Grand Designs” a custom estate in
Paradise Valley with breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain. That’s on page 44.
There’s a theme in this issue and it comes together to showcase the inspired open-air living spaces that
are so vital in a desert home. We talked to Jerry Meek of Desert Star Construction and Tony Sutton
of Est Est Inc. about their thoughts on indoor/outdoor living in Arizona. The article starts on page 26.
Our very own Alison Campbell got to experience a unique wine festival that explains why “Sweet on
Rosé,” is the latest summer wine trend.
A luxury hotel that was long gone; literally a ghost-town, is not only rediscovered, but reinvented with
the “Rebirth of Castle Hot Springs” by Steven Sampson, who fascinated me with a unique recounting
of a time and history in our Arizona past. It doesn’t hurt that Castle Hot Springs will soon be a luxury
hot-spot once again. The article starts on page 40. Finally, we go international and have a question/
answer session with famed Portuguese architect, Mário Martins and see the world through his unique
perspective.
As usual you’ll find our quarterly report where we take a closer look at the status of the luxury home
market and what it means for you.
We close the issue with a collection of Arizona’s finest properties; listings that are active in the MLS,
as well as private listings that can only be seen on these pages, on WaltDanley.com and through our
carefully curated affiliate sites.
Thank you for reading.
Until next time,
WALT DANLEY
