Executive Chef at Sanctuary on Camelback
Mountain Resort and Spa, Beau MacMillan,
spearheaded the event just last year and it
was tremendous success. At Nirvana 2017,
there were evenings dedicated to fried
chicken and Champagne donned “Flutes
& Coops.” It certainly seems an unlikely
combination to the novice palette, but
considered a truly refined and remarkable
pairing within the industry. It was, of course,
a crowd favorite and brought back for the
2018 festival along with the “Master of Taste”
winemaker dinners. One such special Master
of Taste winemaker dinner included celebrity
Kurt Russell to host and educate along with
the all-star team of chefs.
Todd English, one of those all-star chefs,
brought the “Rose Parte” to life this year
with the Bella Twins in its Spring af ternoon
soiree debut. This event was a new addition
to the Nirvana Food and Wine Festival
and delivered with macaroons, cupcakes,
charcuterie galore, diamonds by Addison
Taylor and music by Urban Electra.
The event showcased Arizona’s leading
pastry chefs and a caviar bar proving yet
another delightful food and wine pairing.
The Rosé Parte soiree featured wines from
Fleur de Mer Rosé, Provence, J Vineyards
Brut Rosé, Sonoma, Prophecy Rosé, Vin de
France, Chateau de Minuty Rosé, Provence,
Edna Valley Rosé, Central Coast, Henriot
Brut Rosé, Champagne, Rosehaven Rosé,
California, Unparalleled Rosé Cuvee,
Provence, Rosa Regale Brachetto d’Acqui,
Piedmont, Elouan Pinot Noir Rosé, Oregon,
and Chateau les Bertrands Rosé Elegance,
Provence.
Tasting these wines garnered excitement for
Summer – a time when Rosé gives you the
crisp and refreshing taste wine-lovers crave
in the heat – and has inspired us to announce
our very own Walt Danley Group exclusive
for the upcoming Fall issue of Portfolio,
which will be all about wine.
The Nirvana Food and Wine Festival brought
fine dining and wine expertise to Paradise
Valley’s backyard. This one event brought
culinary enthusiasts from all over the nation
to Arizona to come together to celebrate and
indulge. So, when we asked Todd English
“Why Rosé?” He simply answered “Rose
all day. Rose with everything. Rose brings
everyone together.”
