This exclusive event features a 55-mile bike ride with George Hincapie, considered the premier grand tour rider of his generation, and Bob Roll, the renowned American commentator covering all of cycling’s grand tours. All proceeds from the event benefit the Napa County Bicycle Coalition and its goals to make Napa County more bicyclefriendly “I’m looking forward to being part of this unique event, especially because it benefits such a great cause,” says Hincapie. “It will be awesome riding in Napa Valley with a small group of cycling enthusiasts. For me, it isn’t just another bike ride; it is a total Napa Valley experience.” Limited to thirty people, participants will enjoy an intimate and exclusive Napa Valley cycling, wine tasting, and gourmet dining adventure tour. Each of the thirty riders will also be able to share part of their experience with a guest at the incredible welcome dinner with the Legends. The gourmet welcome dinner for riders and their guests is at Vineyard 29 on Thursday evening, where star Chef Gustavo Rios, of Michelin Star-winning Solbar will present a meal that is truly legendary. Artfully woven into the dining experience, Master of Wine Peter Marks will lead a one-of-kind tasting of world class reserve wines from some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyards, each made by Napa Valley winemakers who are cycling enthusiasts. Friday begins with breakfast at Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford, from where the riders will set off with Hincapie and Roll on the quieter roads of rural Napa County. Calistoga Bikeshop will provide their luxury van as Local Sports Reports Weekdays, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. for cyclists of all types and persuasions. Pine Ridge Winery in Napa is the lunch rest stop where executive chef Janet Sheehan will present an amazing luncheon to fuel the riders for the final leg of their journey through Napa Valley to Velo Vino, the tasting room of the Clif Family Winery in St. Helena. And Velo Vino has a special dessert food and wine pairing planned as the Grand Finale. “I always love riding in Napa Valley, and frankly, the Legendary Tour is the best cycling event I have ever experienced,” says Roll. The cost is $1,750 per rider, and all proceeds from this event benefit the Napa County Bicycle Coalition.
