upscale. In fact it was more old school. It had good bones, but it needed to be updated for a modern family. Travis and Irene felt it was important to support the local economy, so all the work in their home was accomplished with the help of local tradespeople. They kept the kitchen cabinets, realizing the value in solid oak wood, and refreshed the look by painting them green and replacing the hardware with new, stylish brushed nickel. The hallway door was relocated 4-½ feet to the left to allow extra cabinet space. Old appliances were updated with new stainless steel, and a glass tile backsplash plus a white Caesarstone countertop were added. All in all, it’s a kitchen that begs to be cooked in. I imagine this lifestyle must be quite different from the one Travis was accustomed to in Oakland. As the marketing director for the Sacramento Kings and the VP of marketing for the Golden State Warriors, he ran in an active circle. His current job as President of the Napa Chamber of Commerce still keeps him socially active, but in a more laid-back Napa style. As a shop owner I’m impressed that he takes the time to stop into my shop from time to time to say hi and check on business. At 6 feet, 3 inches, Travis looks like a basketball player. Dressed in a pinstripe suit, with a beret and paper in hand, he epitomizes a casual, upscale ease.
