Wine tasting and dining at world-class restaurants such as La Toque set the stage for love, and they became smitten not only with each other, but Napa as well. A marriage and two children later, eight of their eleven anniversaries have been spent in Napa. Travis and Irene Stanley have had a foot in two places for the past ten years, spreading time between their homes in Oakland and Napa. But last year they decided to make the leap, making Napa their permanent residence. Irene tells me, “The kids would get so excited every time we got in the car to go to Napa. We appreciate the close-knit community Napa offers, and the wonderful parks.” Their daughter, Nina, is drawn to horseback riding, and both children love to go to the Vintage High School farm, where they can see cows and goats. This year they downsized, moving into a home half the size of their previous house. The reason was to simplify their lives and enjoy the land that had enticed them from the moment they set foot on its soil. The new property has a simple, 1,400-square-foot dwelling built in the late forties, but the riches lay in the property itself, 2.5 acres located down a quiet, scenic street on the East Side of Napa. The street is lined with trees now in their Original living room house + home
