Her philosophy on dressing women is to go for quality not quantity. “I always try to carry time-honored classics and I can help my customers update those classics with a few trendy pieces,” she said. “Have a few trendy items, but don’t make it your entire wardrobe. Don’t be afraid to spend money on a good pair of pants and skirts.” The Napa native said it was her parents, who emigrated from the Netherlands, who instilled a strong work ethic among her and her four siblings. They all own their own businesses. Levine had moved away from Napa when she got married, but moved back to Napa when her former husband had a serious illness. “I saw an opportunity to buy the Sweet & Sassy Boutique, and like any young person, you think you are into fashion,” said Levine, who had a NOV E M B E R - D E C E M B E R 2 0 1 4 73
