Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. 3425 Valle Verde Dr - Napa CA 94558 - (707) 265-www.napapediatricdentistry.com Dr. Angie Ring is all smiles when she looks around her brightly pastel-painted office designed to make young children feel comfortable about going to the dentist. One of only four dentists in Napa who specializes in pediatric dentistry, she believes that early oral habits make for happier kids. She is certified as a member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, which means she is a specialist who has taken a series of examinations to prove her knowledge and made a commitment to remain up to date with changes in pediatric dentistry. “I try to instill in the parents the importance of focusing on preventive care,” said Dr. Ring. “I start seeing kids at age one to establish a Dental Home, like well-baby visits to a doctor. We educate the kids and parents and give them the tools at home to establish good habits.” Dr. Ring’s office uses new technology, rewards the kids who have good visits and makes going to see her fun, not intimidating. She opened her practice in Napa two years ago last month, and found out she was pregnant the first week she went into business. “My husband, Joe Ring, is a Napa native, and we knew we wanted to raise our family here and become part of the community,” she said. “I have a good support system at home that allows me to work and be a mom.” Before opening Napa Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Ring worked at another dentist office in the East Bay for five years after spending a two-year residency at a Children’s Hospital at the University of Wisconsin. She grew up in Pleasanton, and knew she would either go into medicine or become a teacher. “I always knew I wanted to work with children,” said Dr. Ring. “Then I volunteered at a pediatric dentist office, centered around just being for kids, and I was hooked.” ADVERTORIAL FEATURE
