Over time, the three planned the business that became Carpe Diem—Latin for “seize the day”—with the financial support of Stephanie’s mother, Laurie, known to the wine bar’s patrons as Mama Mia. Steve now shares his passion and knowledge as wine director and co-owner at Carpe Diem Wine Bar. In addition to offering food and interesting wines from Napa Valley and overseas, the trio has had great success with wine and beer dinners. photo by ART & CLARITY The next step: Their own wine brand.
