There were over 600 registered participants the last two years, and this year, with the addition of a postrace festival, there could be many more. Many of last year’s generous sponsors are once again looking forward to supporting our cause: Bank of Marin, Alyssa Samrick State Farm Agent, Sunrise Rotary, Del Sur Mortgage, Alfredo Pedroza and Kaiser Permanente. WonderBread 5, the well-known Bay Area band, will entertain at the post race festivities. Food trucks will have food and a number of Napa Valley wineries will pour wine to enjoy on a Sunday evening. The Napa Valley Education Foundation has a long history of supporting our local public schools through their TNVEF Teacher Grant Programs, which support students by giving teachers the tools they need to teach. From science lab materials to Music and PE curriculum support, the grants have been well utilized by several teachers and students. Over a million dollars in grants have been awarded, and every school in the NVUSD has benefited from the program. The Elementary School, Middle School and High School with the most race participants will each win $1,000. www.napafit.com/race.
