In November, Carpe Diem opened an outlet at the Oxbow Public Market with a fresh new menu and take away bites, but still showcases his famed Braised Short Ribs, Quake N’ Cheese, Truffle fries and a new version of the Carpe Salad. But having a full service restaurant is where Kendall’s real passion is. “I love the location where Carpe Diem was and I’m happy to return there,” said Kendall. The Napa Historical Society last month approved the plans to repair the historic Alexander Hotel, which houses Carpe Diem. Construction is projected to be completed by March 2015 and Kendall is planning to reopen his five-year old restaurant. UPDATE
