Over the last three years I’ve been exposed to fantastic events from Napa to Hong Kong that include music, food, wine and even boats, skis and trains; but live in the Vineyard remains my personal favorite. Twice a year, Live in the Vineyard brings some of the most exciting and famous pop/rock musicians in the world to Napa for private shows in winery kitchens, barrel rooms, and gar- dens. They also take over the Uptown Theatre in downtown Napa for two nights of larger shows to complement the inti- mate winery moments. It’s a full weekend of exclusive events with cooking demos and tastings, topped off by up-and- coming and world-famous musicians playing for groups small 9) enough to fit in your living room. All the while, you’re mingling with famous musicians, athletes and Hollywood elite, sampling the best wine and food the valley has to offer. Some of the shows are attended by as many as 250 people, but these are still very intimate (even the very intimate and beloved Fillmore in San Francisco holds 1,200), and the host wineries of Live in the Vineyard team pull out all the stops. And, yes, you still get to meet and mingle with stars, record executives, winemakers and winery owners, and eat and drink your fill of Napa’s finest. The evening concerts at the Uptown allow all the attendees across the Napa Valley to come together; corporate VIPs, sponsors, local Napa attendees and VIP contest winners from across the US rub elbows in one great space while they enjoy the biggest artists on the weekend’s bill. Past headliners have included Alanis Morissette, Lenny Kravitz, and Jason Mraz, to name a few.
