By Ian White It was a few short years ago. I’d been running around to wine-related events for three straight weeks when I attended my first Live in the Vineyard (liveinthevineyard.com) private rock show. Despite being an enthusiastic newcomer to the wine industry, and the VIP experiences one is exposed to as a member of the media, I was burned out by the time I was to see Bob- bii Hach Jacobs and Claire Parr (along with invaluable cohorts Sean Ramm and Jamie Reynolds), founders of Live in the Vineyard. Their event was to be my last in a series of over twenty events that month, and I was planning to shake a few hands and head straight home and hide, unless the sky fell or Live in the Vineyard happened to knock me off my feet. Well, it did. Without hesitation, I returned the next day, and even changed from my suit into an attempt at rock-star gear, and back into my suit again, in the bathroom at Paraduxx, just to be able to catch one more musician take the barrel-room stage. Fast-forward three years to now. My family hosts Live in the Vineyard ev- ery chance we get at our winery, Peju, in Rutherford, and we’re also going to be one of their featured pouring wineries on the upcoming Live in the 1) 2) Vineyard at Sea Caribbean cruise in November of 2013. 3) 4) 5) 7) 8) 4
