Point riCHmond “The best thing about sailing the San Francisco Bay is you can get a view of the entire Bay with just about a 4-hour trip,” says Captain Dan Seifers of Sailing Caprice, based out of Point Richmond. Captain Dan and his First Mate Carol can take you along Sausalito Harbor, underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, down the San Francisco seafront, pass by Alcatraz, cruise by Angel Island and back for a full experience of the Bay. If you have any concerns about rocking back and forth on the water, don’t worry as you’ll be on a catamaran. “The boat sails flat,” says Captain Dan. “So if anyone has tendencies with sea sickness or anything like that, generally, that’s not a problem—we can put a cup of coffee on the table and it won’t spill.” Captain Dan recommends planning an outing with your friends or family when they visit from out of town to really let them experience the Bay in all it’s beauty. “It’s a perfect venue for that,” he says. And they’re all private outings so you can really make a day out of it with the ones you love.
