SESSION 1: TALKING – STORY WORKSHOP

120,000 Americans of Japanese descent who were “evacuated” to
American concentration camps were children. In this documentary

incarceration, the long internalized grief and shame they felt and how

Ristorante, will talk about her life and outreach programs. She has
provided dinner, free flu shots and medical checkups to thousands
of homeless people on Thanksgiving Day. On Mother’s Day, she has
given brunch to children who have lost their mothers to gun violence.
Several times a year, Aklilu hosts an etiquette class and life lessons
for a group of children who otherwise wouldn’t get an opportunity to
learn these skills, as she serves them a four-course meal. Meeting
