Good Butter Bakery SAmPLE PLATE A Heavenly Melting Delectable Indulgence Good Butter Bakery is a “little slice of heaven” located in the heart of Pinole’s historic district in a retail center on San Pablo Avenue and Fernandez Avenue. Although the bakery is relatively small, the range of sweet treats offered at Good Butter Bakery seems endless, and each one that I had the opportunity to try was simply scrumptious! This business is approaching its one year anniversary, having been established on April 27, 2014 by owners Paul and Blisilda (Bless) Llorente, and continues to expand as the news about the delectable desserts available for purchase and/or for special orders. Good Butter Bakery is truly a “family affair”. Paul and Bless and their two children, Carlo and Francesca, almost exclusively run the business. However, since both Paul and Bless both have full time jobs in addition to the family business, and Francesca is in high school, they do have some assistance running the bakery during business hours. Paul is the master baker, and has over 25 years of experience as a baker and pastry chef. He graduated from the Culinary Academy in the eighties, and after graduation, spent time in Denmark learning how to make Danish pastries, marzipan, wedding cakes, and other confectionary treats. He has been mentoring Carlo, who at the age of only 19 has become extremely adept at baking alongside his father. Each evening, the two bake all products sold at Good Butter Bakery at an offsite commercial kitchen in Emeryville each evening, and then deliver fresh products to the bakery each morning. Each and every product is home made from scratch using only the freshest, natural and high quality ingredients. When you step into Good Butter Bakery, the atmosphere is warm and homey. There are two large glass counters through which patrons can view the many different pastries, cookies, and other bakery items for sale.
