Audiences adore her spunky attitude, priceless facial expressions and hysterical outlook on life in America. She has appeared in numerous feature films, including “Evan Almighty,” TV shows, such as “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and her own latenight talk show, “The Wanda Sykes Show.” Her voice can be heard in the animated features “Ice Age: Continental Drift” and “Rio,” among others. Winner of multiple Emmy Awards and the American Comedy Award for Outstanding Female Stand-Up Comic in 2001, it’s no wonder why audiences go wild for Wanda. Oct. 23, 8 p.m. Tickets $45-$75. Eight monster trucks—including Bounty Hunter and Scarlet Bandit—will compete in an arena with crushed cars and dirt ramps. Motocross jumpers will leap off ramps that are over 10 feet tall and fly 90 feet through the air, hitting tricks before they land. Main St., Salinas. 800/549-4989. Wild About Wanda AUG 7 Man’s Best Friend Originally a painter, William Wegman became well known for taking amusing photographs of his Weimaraner dogs. Along with those photos, “Artists Including Me: William Wegman” introduces another side of Wegman. With his signature quick wit, he reflects on his life as an artist and on his artistic heroes. Wegman reimagines art-historical masterpieces and art-world scenarios. His alternative versions are part homage, part visual pun and part parody. He pays tongue-in-cheek tribute to Leonardo da Vinci, Edward Hopper, Wassily Kandinsky and more. Conceived by the Krannert Art Museum, the exhibition has been expanded with new photographs of the dogs. Oct. 3-Feb. 7. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets $5-8.
