JUNE 3–JULY 29 Vasona Vibrations Vasona Vibrations is in its 15th year and offers family-friendly concerts that featuring local artists performing a variety of genres, including Americana, blues, zydeco, Dixieland, jazz, big band, roots, folk and more. JUNE 8–JULY 14 Cupertino Summer Concert Series Pack a picnic for this joyous outdoor music series that takes place Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. CUPERTINO SYMPHONIC BAND perform on June 8, followed by the eclectic rock PRIVATE LABEL on June 15. Enjoy classic and modern rock dance music by PHIL ‘N THE BLANKS on June 22. Then, on July 4, OTR will perform Rock n Roll and R&B dance hits. JUNE 12–SEPT. 2 Friday Night Bands on the Beach Friday nights will sizzle at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk during this festive annual event. Each band performs twice per night, at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. On June 16, EDDIE MONEY takes the stage for an evening of ’80s hits. JUNE 12–SEPT. 18 Music is Everywhere in Redwood City Friday nights in Redwood City are about to get a lot more interesting. Five locations full of free music are bound to have something for the entire family: Sounds of the Shores at Marlin Park, Music in the Park at Stafford Park, the Classical Series at Courthouse Square and Kidchella during the day at Courthouse Square. JUNE 21–AUG. 30 Sunnyvale Summer Series The 100 block of South Murphy Avenue in Sunnyvale heats up on Wednesday nights with music, including dance masters BUSTA-GROOVE! (June 21), old-school R&B group SAGE (July 12), salsa band TORTILLA SOUP (Aug. 23) and many other artists. All performances are from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. sunnyvaledown town.com. JUNE 21–AUG. 23 Jazz on the Plazz Spend hot summer nights in Los Gatos honoring BILLIE HOLIDAY. Providing their take on the Billie Holiday songbook will be an array of jazz artists, including PAULA WEST (June 28), TONY LINDSAY (July 5), MATTHEW KAMINSKI (July 12), NATALIE DOUGLAS (July 26), TIA BRAZDA (Aug. 8) and many more. JUNE 22–AUG. 10 Campbell Summer Concert Series Rock out on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in historic downtown Campbell. The series kicks off on June 22 with classic rock by DAZE ON THE GREEN. STEVEN YBARRA will get you in the country mood on July 6. The JOHNNY NERI BAND will get you moving with rock and roll soul on July 27. JUNE 25–AUG. 7 Stern Grove Festival The 80th Stern Grove Festival kicks off with the Big Picnic on June 25, featuring a free performance by pop-funk masters KOOL AND THE GANG. Local R&B and funk musician QUINN DEVEAUX opens the show.
