DRIVING FORCE At home and at golf, LPGA champion JULI INKSTER plays to win. BY KEVIN SAMSON One could be fooled by the demeanor and appearance of Juli Inkster: casual, yet self-assured with an easygoing mom-next-door manner about her. Neither tall nor short at five-foot-seven, she doesn’t stand out, yet the loose, graceful way in which she moves might hint at her professional career. Juli is in fact an elite athlete; now 57, she is a homegrown superstar as festooned with decorations as any five-star general. Last year alone she competed in 13 LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournaments. Meanwhile, she has segued into the broadcast booth for Fox Sports, where she is a golf analyst for USGA (United States Golf Association) events. June/July 2017 59
