Vintage Affaire (vintageaffaire.org), the highly anticipated annual wine auction event benefiting the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, is Saturday, June 18, at a Tuscan-inspired Atherton estate. The event begins at 4 p.m. with a silent auction, wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a gourmet dinner and live auction. Tickets are from $350 to $700 Patron level, which includes attendance at the Vintage Evening on June 16. Vintage Affaire has raised more than $8 million for Vista Center over the last 34 years. Local residents can celebrate Father’s Day in style on June 19 at The Mountain Winery (14831 Pierce Road, Saratoga), where Father’s Day Sangria Sunday takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event includes a Latin meal paired with the winery’s special sangrias and live music. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Take in the enticing aroma of bacon at J. Lohr’s Bacon and Wine Pairing event, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 14. Visitors to the J. Lohr San Jose Wine Center (1000 Lenzen Ave.) will be guided through a tasting of four house-made bacons, paired with the winery’s own wines. The $35 ticket includes wine and appetizers that also feature — what else? — bacon. Another Passport Day is set July 16, showcasing more than 50 wineries from Woodside to Watsonville.
