Here are just some of the many things happening at local wineries. One of the social events of the season is the Silicon Valley Wine Auction on June 19-20, held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, home of the San Francisco 49ers. Produced in collaboration with the Santa Cruz Mountain Winegrowers Association, this event features winemaker dinners the first night and a grand food and wine tasting the following evening, with all benefiting a good cause. More than 60 vintners will participate, and there will be 300 silent and live auction lots. Cost is $150. For more information, call 831/685-8463. South Bay wine insiders love Wine Bar 107, the outdoor space at Testarossa Winery in Los Gatos (300 College Ave.), overlooking the valley. This peaceful courtyard surrounded by the historic winery’s stone walls is shaded by ancient oaks and sycamores, making an ideal summer venue to sip excellent wines and munch on snacks. Live music plays during the summer on Thursdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. Call 408/354-6150 for more information. A lovely new family winery in San Martin is holding its grand opening on June 6 from noon to 5 p.m. Seeker Vineyard (11755 Turlock Ave.) is in a rustic setting, featuring olive trees, a rose garden and majestic redwoods. Visitors to this event will sip estate wines and join in a game of volleyball or horseshoes. For more information, call 408/683-4993. Father’s Day on June 21 is a big event at many wineries in the bucolic Livermore Valley’s wine country. Call 925/215-0717 for more information. Murrieta’s Well (3005 Mines Road) also celebrates dads with wine and food including hot sandwiches for purchase. More information at 925/456-2395.
