This exhibition includes 18 prints, drawings and photographs by artists including James McNeill Whistler, Max Klinger and Félicien Rops – all 19th-century artists who manipulated the appearance of atmosphere to create the illusion of space and texture, imply a mood or even shape the narrative content of an image.
