Walt Danley Realty Presents
PORTFOLIO
Welcome to the 28th issue of Portfolio Magazine. Autumn has officially arrived, bringing the cooler
temperatures and warmer tones we’ve craved all summer long. With the promise of holiday festivities
around the corner, we here at Walt Danley are finding plenty of reasons to celebrate – I do not exaggerate
when I say that this issue contains some of the most unbelievable, unconventional, and unparalleled
properties we’ve ever had the privilege to showcase.
Paradise Valley’s newest estate can be described as nothing less than a private resort. Nestled on 2.24
acres with 15,000 square feet of living and entertaining spaces, this palatial home takes full advantage
of its expansive grounds. New construction features designed by Shane Aimes in the Palm Beach
Transitional style lends the property a breezy opulence, captured in its creamy honed marble surfaces
and groin vaulted ceilings (p. 20). Over on Morning Glory Road, an estate designed by Candelaria,
built by Shultz Development with interiors by David Michael Miller and landscape by Berghoff Design
reflects its pedigree in its impeccable taste (p. 34). Our feature “Inner Sanctum/ Outer Sanctuary”
highlights a Santa Barbara style estate that hosts not only a completely remodeled property, but one of
the most impressive and distinguished private gardens in town. Its year-round bloom can be admired
beginning on page 40.
To boast that we have one of the most valuable offerings in the state of Arizona underestimates the
magnificence – and scope – of Mort and Donna Fleischer’s bifurcated haven. 100 acres amid the desert
in Scottsdale, 7,000 contiguous acres of timber and grasslands in Montana – learn the joy of “Code of
the West” on page 10.
While perusing these landmark properties, rest easy with a glass of cabernet in one hand and our
“Best Cellars” feature in the other: whether you are a serious connoisseur or an enthusiastic neophyte,
learn about the variables affecting your collection along with methods to keep your wine in pristine
condition till the time comes to uncork (p. 26). When you’re finished, mosey on over to page 64 to
explore the impressive wine cellar and vineyard of Catello Barbera, a 17th century castle and a featured
Christie’s International Real Estate property. Finally, take advantage of the beautiful fall weather with
“Blue-sky Cooking”, a guide to embracing outdoor dining in style with Arizona-based designer and
architect Daniel Germani discussing his collaboration with Brown Jordan Outdoor Kitchens (p. 46).
As usual you’ll find our quarterly report, where we take a closer look at the status of the luxury home
market and what it means for you.
We close the issue with a collection of Arizona’s finest properties; listings that are active in the MLS,
as well as private listings that can only be seen on these pages, on WaltDanley.com and through our
carefully curated affiliate sites.
Thank you for reading.
Until next time,
WALT DANLEY
