In its 20-year history, Hands Across the Valley has raised over $1 million to benefit the Napa Valley’s safety-net food programs. Napa Valley chefs, vintners, celebrities and the community join hands to ensure no one goes hungry in the Napa Valley. In addition to the walk-around tasting, Hands Across the Valley also offers a VIP Dinner provided by Chef Bob Hurley of Hurley’s Restaurant, silent and live auctions, plus the Valley’s best dance party under the stars at Charles Krug. This event benefits the Napa Valley Food Bank. Come enjoy live music, wine and food at this “only-at-Oxbow-Public-Market” evening featuring a special multi-course, market-to-table dinner provided by Oxbow Public Market’s artisan merchants serving it up to raise funds in support of the Napa Valley Food Bank. New this year is Fork It After, the after-party where the Oxbow Public Market River Deck will be turned into Napa’s hottest after-hours dance club, rocked by DJ Aurelio. Sat urday & SUnday , September 13 & 14 The 20th Annual Music Festival for Brain Health takes place Saturday, September 13, at Staglin Family Vineyard in Rutherford, Napa Valley, and Sunday, Stepember 14, at The Lincoln Theater in Yountville, Napa Valley. Since its debut, the Music Festival’s nineteen-year total, including grants from the National Institute of Mental Health, has raised over $175 million, and the Staglins are poised to announce surpassing the $200 million mark at this year’s special 20th Anniversary event. These incredible numbers make the Music Festival for Brain Health the most successful private fundraising event related to brain illness. The qualifying first round matches of the Napa Valley Challenger, a USTA pro circuit tennis tournament in the Napa Valley, will be held on September 20 at the Napa Valley Country, 3385 Hagen Road. Chris Arns, the Tournament Director, orchestrated this Challenger tour successfully last year. The Challenger is a men’s professional tournament with prize money of $50,000. September 20 will be the opening date of the qualifying matches; the main draw begins September 22 and goes through Sunday, September 28. Matches begin at 10 am daily. Sunday , October 26, 27th Annual Chocolate & Wine This tasting event at the Westin Verasa Napa benefits the Napa County Family & Foster Parent Association. Catered by Ken Frank, chef of La Toque restaurant, the venue will be the Westin Verasa. Over 30 wineries and 30 chocolatiers will be serving.
