My screen image is the one seen above. I must say, it was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had in the Napa Valley in a very long time. In addition to hot air ballooning, there is so much to see and do in the Napa Valley besides wine tasting. Don’t get me wrong, Napa Valley wines go hand in hand with just about everything, but Yountville has so much more to offer. Yountville is one of the few places that permits hot air balloon launches. If you want to get a bird’s eye view of one of the most beautiful places on earth, book your early morning flight and launch from either the Vintner’s Golf Club with Napa Valley Balloons or the V Marketplace south parking lot with Napa Valley Aloft in Yountville. Besides hot air ballooning, you can pick up a bike at Napa Valley Bike Tours on Washington Street and go for a long, leisurely ride among the lush green vineyards. On the other hand, you might prefer a slower pace taking a walking tour of Yountville’s historic old town or The French Laundry’s gardens. Whatever the mode of transportation, you will definitely experience a “sensory overload” from the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the season along the way. With the harvest season now in full swing, there are celebrations everywhere with grape stomps and special tastings. Yountville celebrates harvest with the 36th Annual Yountville Days Parade and Festival October 4 through 6; beginning Friday with Movie Night in Yountville Park, on Saturday, the 6th Annual Chili Cook Off and finally on Sunday, the Parade and Festival in Yountville Park. Free admission for everyone! Take in a performance at the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at the Lincoln Theater or check out the latest exhibit at the Napa Valley Museum; both are located on the beautiful grounds of the California Veterans Home at Yountville. There’s so much to do and see. Come to Yountville and “Taste Life Here!” C M Y CM MY CY CMY K PR_NapaValleyLife.pdf 1 6/25/13 9:25 AM 1
