For Ken Graham, owner of Teeny Tiny Coffee Company, coffee roasting was merely a hobby until he realized he had a natural gift for making unique and aromatic blends that people wanted to buy. Ken’s model is to take the finest quality, freshest beans, and roast them in his Sono Fresco Air Roasters and then deliver or ship immediately to the customer. Following the company’s motto, “The only shelves our coffees will sit on are yours.” Being green and using intelligent business practices that are environmentally friendly makes total sense for Ken. Since he uses organic Fair Trade coffees, it was a logical extension for him to pursue the Bay Area Green Business Certification. Working with Danielle Schmitz of the Napa Green Business Program made certification easy and achievable. Ken provides a unique coffee experience for his clients. “It is our goal to eventually host tours to places like Costa Rica to visit coffee plantations and to offer training classes in coffee roasting and preparation.” He also works closely with Coffee Kinetics, the makers of the Sono Fresco roaster line, and is about to take delivery of a new hardware and software addition that will allow exacting coffee roasting and profiling on a repeatable basis, called ADR or Advanced Definition Roasting.
