The award-winning Spa Terra, located at the Meritage Resort, is a destination not to be missed. The medieval-meets-modern décor adds to the relaxing, calming atmosphere as soon as you enter the glass doors across from the Trinitas Winery Tasting Room. A whole menu of service awaits the weary traveler or exhausted worker. On my day to visit Spa Terra, I signed up for a facial. It was wonderful, exhilarating and refreshing, but what left a lasting impression with me was all the pampering before the facial began. Everyone who has any services at the Spa is entitled to spend the day enjoying the sauna, hot tubs, pool, and my favorite, the Serenity Room. The Serenity Room (shown in the above photo) is the place you go to get into the zone of letting everything go—stress, an active mind and tense muscles. Heck, I felt my blood pressure plummet just walking into the serene, lightly lit cave adorned with a trickling waterfall wall surrounded by comfy chairs and couches. I sat back, wrapped in the soft white robe provided by the spa, sipping cucumber water and munching on a nut/fruit mix. I even ordered a cheese plate. To aid further in my unwinding, I was offered a glass of champagne. Yes, I was in heaven. My thirty minutes of relaxing in the Serenity Lounge was not long enough before it was time for my facial. I now understand why they suggest you show up an hour prior to your appointment. Unfortunately I did not allot enough time for the full experience. My next visit will include a few girlfriends and we will make a day of it. Spa Terra offers many soothing amenities besides the Serenity Lounge: twelve treatment rooms, including four for couples and a private ladies’ lounge and gentlemen’s lounge. And Spa Terra loves their Napa neighbors and offers special locals discounts on services Monday through Thursday. I recommend you come into Mother Earth and experience Spa Terra for yourself.
