Why I’m Supporting the Queen Johnny Miller • Winner of 25 PGA Tour events • Network TV commentator • Golf course architect • Partner, Silverado Resort • Napa resident Photography by Joann Dost Every Napa resident deserves world-class health care. When my partners and I purchased the Silverado Resort in 2010, our goal was to restore the property to its former world-class status. As a first step, I set out to significantly revamp the North golf course by lengthening and widening many of the fairways, removing and recontouring some of the bunkers and refurbishing the traps with sparkling white sand. I’m proud to say the updated course is garnering rave reviews from players and critics alike. We in Napa have always set our standards high. We won’t settle for second best. This same drive for excellence applies to our community hospital, Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Queen of the Valley is working to bring the latest in medical technology to Napa with the construction of the $122 million 72,000-sq-ft Herman Family Pavilion. This facility will house some of the most state-of-theart laboratory services and “smart” operating rooms in northern California, including a Hybrid Operating Suite, the current optimum integration of technology and surgery. The entire third floor will be dedicated to intensive care and recovery, especially designed for improved outcomes based on best practice in recent years. But leading-edge technology is costly. The project requires $10 million in additional funds to be completed. That’s why I am making a significant contribution to Queen of the Valley. I encourage you to join me with a donation of your own and help us make this life-saving facility a reality. Let’s not waste a moment. Visit www.queensfoundation.org or call (707) 257-4044.
