As the holiday season approaches, many people begin to get into the festive spirit by planning holiday parties and nights out with friends and loved ones. There is certainly no shortage of amazing restaurants in the Napa Valley. The holidays are an especially fun time to visit Ca’ Momi in the Oxbow Public Market. Try out items only offered during the holiday season, such as their delicious truffle pasta or vin brulè (heated, spiced wine), and be sure to order some of their special holiday pastries. This holiday season also marks Ca’ Momi’s third year anniversary, so it’s an exciting time to visit this favorite dining destination.  Ca’ Momi prides itself on serving “Obsessively Authentic Italian.” Every item on Ca’ Momi’s menu showcases the rich traditions of Italian cooking. “This time of year is an especially good time to celebrate food, wine and coming together,” says Valentina Migotto. “Our authentic Italian cuisine showcases the true flavors of the best organic, sustainable, local and Italian-imported ingredients. So when people come to Ca’ Momi, they should be prepared to just sit back, relax and enjoy!”  To further demonstrate its commitment to authentic Italian cooking, Ca’ Momi went through the rigorous and esteemed certification by the Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN) Association – an Italian government designation that preserves the heritage of traditional Neapolitan pizza making. This certification recognizes pizzerias that respect the culinary tradition of the Neapolitan pizza and adhere to strict guidelines and requirements set forth by the VPN. For example, Neapolitan pizzas must be cooked in a wood-burning oven and include only fresh, all-natural, non-processed ingredients. “It was truly an honor to get this VPN certification, as it ensures that what you eat at Ca’ Momi is what you would find in Italy,” says Dario De Conti. “If you can’t visit Italy over the holidays, then we invite you to come to Ca’ Momi and be our guest.”  This year, Ca’ Momi also received the “Ospitalità Italiana Seal” from the Italian Chamber of Commerce.  This highly coveted certification recognizes those restaurants that respect, protect, and serve the history, culture, quality and authenticity of Italian cuisine. Ca’ Momi is the only restaurant in the Napa Valley to receive this prestigious seal of approval.  In addition to pizza, Ca’ Momi offers many other delicious and authentically Italian dishes such as spaghetti alla bottarga, linguine al pesto Genovese and spetzatina pollenta. They also offer a variety of delicious pastries, like crostate, crostatine di frutta, panna cotta,  bignè latte e miele, tiramisù, cantucci and biscotti. The bignè are perhaps the most popular treats on the menu. These delectable cream puffs are filled with your choice of vanilla bean or Tcho chocolate cream and offer the most delicious and memorable way to complete any dining experience.   Of course, no Napa Valley restaurant would be complete without a selection of Napa Valley wines. In Italy, wine is a part of life. Ca’ Momi has hand-crafted several impressive, award-winning wines to enjoy every day: Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, as well as proprietary red and white blends Rosso di Napa and Bianco di Napa. Ca’ Momi also makes two delightful sparkling wines that would make any holiday party more festive: Ca’ Secco and Ca’ Rosa, which are light, refreshing and full of fruit. In addition to their own wines, Ca’ Momi sells a selection of artisan wines from small Italian producers, all of which will help complete your Italian dining experience. Ca’ Momi Enoteca and Pizzeria is located in the Oxbow Public Market, 610 First Street, Napa, CA 94559. 707.257.4922. www.camomi.com Napa General Store Owner Jim Brandt OPEN MAP HERE
