TAKE YOUR TAKESeats Over 300 filmmakers are set to join in on the festival fun, as well as a number of noteworthy celebs. The Celebrity Tribute, happening Saturday, November 16, will honor Colin Farrell (Saving Mr. Banks, Total Recall, In Bruges) and director/writer/producer John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, Saving Mr. Banks) for their accomplishments in the world of film, as well as rising stars Dianna Agron (Glee, The Family) and Miles Teller (Rabbit Hole, The Spectacular Now). The Celebrity Tributes will be hosted by Billy Bush, the charming and charismatic host of “Access Hollywood,” NBC’s daily entertainment news show. Although the festival officially begins on Wednesday, November 13, NVFF will host a special Veterans Day Program at the Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater in Yountville on Monday, November 11. Tickets for this event are free for veterans and active duty military. As the official kick-off to the festival, the Festival Gala, taking place on Thursday, November 14, will be bigger and bolder than ever before! Join NVFF in downtown Napa between the Oxbow Public Market and 500 First Street. The Festival Gala is your gateway to all things NVFF. Enjoy a taste of culinary offerings from many of Napa Valley’s top chefs, dance to a variety of bands and DJs, meet filmmakers and other talented artists, and grab a glass of wine from a number of worldclass wineries or a cold chalice of Stella Artois. This year NVFF will host the first New Power Lunch: Celebrating Women Making a Difference, a benefit for the Napa Valley Film Festival’s Education & Outreach (E&O) Programs. Taking place Saturday, November 16, the event will honor the women behind the inspirational films Anita and Sewing Hope. Oscar-award winning filmmaker Freida Mock (director of Anita) and Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe (the subject of Sewing Hope) will both be honored at the luncheon. The event will be co-hosted by MORE magazine and the New Power Lunch Host Committee. Attendees will enjoy a three-course meal prepared by Chef Catherine Bergen of C Casa. Wine will be provided by Women of the Vine, an organization focused on building a community of women winemakers. But that’s not all! Don’t forget about the reason we’re all here: film! NVFF has stepped up its game for its third year program, featuring a lineup of exclusive Studio Sneak Peaks, documentary feature films, narrative feature films, and one of the most robust short film programs in the country, including the new Animated Short Films category sponsored by AWS and Intel.
