There’s a wholesomeness ands the weather turns chilly, we turn to family and friends for thewarmth of companionship and good food. I feel honored to be intimacy when you eat at home, whether it’s your own home or someone else’s. Invariably when I eat food prepared by a friend or family member, I end up asking for the recipe. It’s an opportunity to learn how to cook from the chefs themselves. I’m opening the doors to the homes of four of my friends, hoping you will draw inspiration, as I do, from their table decorations and recipes. At home with the Smiths inside their cozy California Bungalow I have long admired the exquisite photography of Meg Smith, and enjoyed the animated enthusiasm expressed by Rob, her husband, when it comes to bee keeping. Their family lives in a California bungalow house that is in the continuous throes of creative renovation (much like my own home).
