As part of a study, a group of single strangers were paid to go to a cocktail party. At the end of the night, they were asked individually who the most in- triguing or interesting person in the room was; the answers were basically unanimous. The next night, the same was done with a bunch of couples; the results were the same: The most intriguing and in- teresting people were the ones who said the least...
