Pairing world-class food and wine with small agricultural town sensibility is Napa Valley’s recipe for a fresh and growing nighttime scene. Once the tasting rooms have poured the last splash of the day, and kitchen crews escape the restaurant heat, Napa Valley breathes a second wind in the form of salsa lessons, dive bar revelry and live music followed by late-night nibbles at famed area eateries. Please Don’t Stop The Music • The historic Napa Valley Opera House, also downtown, offers an eclectic array of performing arts including theatre, dance, comedy, and a variety of music. • Located in downtown Napa’s west end, the newly restored Uptown Theatre hosts musical, comedic and literary talent from near and far. • The Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater has just re-opened, and is now hosting a number of varieties of musical entertainment including evenings at the symphony and multi-media performances. They’ve Got The Beat • Bistro Sabor transitions its spicy Latin flavor from cuisine to dance in downtown Napa on Saturday evenings after dinner service. Spinning Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata and Reggaeton tunes from 10:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Bistro Sabor kicks off this spicy late night with a beginnerfriendly Salsa lesson for the uninitiated. • At local Calistoga hotspot Hydro Bar & Grill, fans enjoy jazz and blues on Friday and Saturday evenings, with live swing and New Orleans-style Dixieland featured on Sunday nights. • Thursday nights at Ana’s Cantina on Main Street in St. Helena offer weekly Karaoke nights, beginning at 8 p.m. and featuring drink specials and plenty of almost-on-key belting. • Silo’s Jazz Club, an intimate jazz club in the style of a Chicago speakeasy, welcomes musicians from the Napa Valley as well as visiting Grammy award-winning artists. In addition to a creative list of cocktails, Silo’s also offers its own Silo Ale served on draft. After The party, It’s The After-Party • Napa Valley’s only true dive bar, Pancha’s Saloon on Washington Street in Yountville, offers billiards, drink specials and excellent people watching. • Downtown Napa’s Oenotri keeps its wood-fired oven on until well after nearby concertgoers have watched the last encore of the evening. Authentic Neapolitan pizzas and drinks are served late on theater nights, as well as weekly on Thursday through Saturday. • Downtown Napa’s Bounty Hunter stays open until 12:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and offers over 400 wines, including 40 by the glass, as well as a seriously extensive whiskey menu for late night sipping. • In Yountville, Hurley’s Restaurant & Bar has a late night menu of burgers, fries and mussels, as well as open patio seating and an assortment of artisanal cocktails. • Chef Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bistro serves dinner until 12:30 a.m., offering local chefs and restaurateurs the perfect after-hours place for digging in at the raw bar with sparklers, wines by the glass and cocktails in Yountville. • For wine tastings that continue way past a sunset sip, John Anthony Lounge on First Street in Downtown Napa stays open until 2:00 a.m. most nights. • Goose & Gander in St. Helena is open most nights until 12 a.m. and offers Chef Kelly McCown’s rustic New American menus alongside perfectly blended artisan cocktails and highly focused seasonal wine list.
