It’s a sure way to enhance your dining experience. • Best breakfas t My wife, Alessia, and I love to treat ourselves to a delicious breakfast overlooking the lush vines of the Napa Valley at Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford. With its romantic setting, great menu and superior service, it is definitely a memorable morning every time we do it. • Best Napa Valey view The Chappellet Winery in St. Helena is perched high above the Napa Valley at 1,800 feet elevation on Pritchard Hill. You can enjoy sweeping views of Lake Hennessey and see a beautiful and serene vista of some of Napa Valley’s most renowned vineyards. • Best Workou t Hiking in the Westwood Hills Park is always a good workout. With three miles of diverse forested trails, from open meadows to dense woods, the hiking here also offers great views of Napa while offering some much-needed exercise. • Best home-coked meal Pizza, of course! I love a pizza that starts with a thin crust and has toppings of sliced heirloom tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil. Perfection on a plate! Add a fresh arugula salad and dinner is served. • Best place to unwind Skyline Park with my horse Mr. T. The park includes over 25 miles of trails and a short main trail (just over two miles) that leads to Lake Marie. Being on horseback gives me a chance to relax, unwind and think clearly. 80 www. n A PAVA L L E Y L I F E magaz ine . c o m • Best film My latest new favorite film is “The Great and Powerful Oz.” The 3D effects are incredible, but my all-time favorite film is Michael Goorjian’s movie “Illusion,” starring Kirk Douglas and featuring my best friend, Leonora Particelli. A lot of the movie was filmed in St. Helena, my hometown. • Best bok Judgment of Paris, by George M. Taber The Paris Tasting of 1976 will forever be remembered as the landmark event that transformed the wine industry. This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the Napa Valley and learn about this pivotal moment in wine history. I highly recommend it. featuring Alesandro Sbrendola Owner Alex Italian Restaurant by Sharon Ufberg
