After twentytwo years I still can’t help feeling blessed to live in such a place. Feeling the need to serve my new community, I ran for public office and was elected to the Yountville Town Council. While I was serving on the Council, many decisions were made that forever changed Yountville’s landscape. While some may disagree with Yountville’s evolution over the past two decades, I couldn’t be more proud. That pride carries over to my position as President/CEO of the Yountville Chamber of Commerce. Business is booming in the “gourmet capital” of the Napa Valley. Yountville is proud to announce the latest addition to its gourmet line up, R+D Kitchen, a Hillstone Restaurant and sister restaurant to the Rutherford Grill. R+D is the anchor business in the newly renovated Washington Square at the north end of town along with the Napa Valley Toy Company, Vineyard Dog, Napa Valley Bike Tours and Kelly’s Fuel and Provisions. Yountville now boasts ten gourmet (four Michelinstarred) restaurants, beautiful spas, inns and hotels, fantastic new retail shops and some of the finest wine tasting in the Valley. A walking town, Yountville is a “one-stop-shop” with dining, wine tasting, shopping and entertainment all within a few blocks. Park the car and enjoy a great meal, shop a little or check out our public art walk. You can enjoy evening entertainment at the Somerston Wine Co., at Thursday Night Live or Friday Night Live in the Lobby at the Napa Valley Museum, and Chef Bob Hurley is grilling up your favorites on the patio at Hurley’s Restaurant & Bar Friday afternoons all summer long. Enjoy a spectacular fireworks display on the 4th at the California Veterans Home, or take in a performance at the Valley’s finest cultural arts venue, the Performing Arts Center at the Lincoln Theater. Don’t forget to check out the latest exhibit at the Napa Valley Museum, and the town’s Parks and Recreation Department has a boat-load of activities planned for the whole family this summer.
