t h e b e s t o f t i m e s Satu rday , July 20 31th Annual Home Winemakers Classic at Charles Krug Winery “The 2013 Ultimate Cult Wine Event,” the theme for the annual Home Winemakers Classic, reminds those who visit this grand party that they can expect an exceptional and unusual tasting of wines to be found nowhere else! In addition, fine food, live music, excellent silent auction selections and a grand raffle will complement superb and exceptional home wines from 50- 60 home winemakers. Event runs 4-6:30 p.m. Referred to as the “Poor Man’s Wine Auction,” the Home Winemakers Classic is an affordable and downright fun home winemakers tasting party. This year will find the 30th Home Winemakers Classic on the beautiful grounds of the Charles Krug Winery, located at 2800 Main Street (also known as Hwy. 29) in the town of St. Helena. This year’s event will be held in the gorgeous, newly renovated Carriage House. Each year the Classic is attended by devoted locals and out-of-town wine lovers. Everyone comes, kicks back, strolls about, tastes wine, and enjoys delectable food provided by Tyler Anderson Catering to satisfy the gourmet palate. There is the exceptional tasting of a number of varietal wines, and the judging of awardwinning amateur wines on their way to loftier levels of outstanding awards. Live music will be performed by local performers John Kelly & Friends. The silent auction will be held inside the beautiful Carriage House, featuring a wide display of wines from both the home winemakers and from other local wineries and businesses. Etched glasses, wine plates, and enticing raffle prizes round out the offering. The raffle prizes will include a $500 cash prize. As California’s premier cult wine event, the Classic’s sole purpose is to raise money to support the Dry Creek-Lokoya Volunteer Fire Department, located in the western hills of Napa County and serving the community located on and around Redwood, Mt. RockNapa 2013 will take place at the historic Charles Krug Winery on its 600+ acres of pristine Napa Valley land in the heart of St. Helena. The series will offer a festival atmosphere on the winery’s Great Lawn and a VIP Experience in the beautifully restored 100-year-old Carriage House, featuring some of Napa Valley’s premium wineries and culinary creations to match. Gates and on-site parking will open at 4:00 p.m., with gourmet food trucks, wine pouring stations and a beer garden, along with other exciting entertainment and drawings for Napa Valley wines and more.
