Why I’m Supporting the Queen Michael Chiarello • Executive Chef/Owner, Bottega in Napa Valley and Coqueta in San Francisco • Entrepreneur • Emmy-Award winning TV personality, cookbook author and tastemaker • Napa resident Every Napa resident deserves world-class health care. When I was invited to be a contestant on The Next Iron Chef television series, I accepted immediately. I relished the opportunity to test my skills against some of the nation’s finest chefs. When it comes to food and wine, we in Napa have always held ourselves to the highest standards. This same uncompromising attitude toward quality also applies to our hospital, Queen of the Valley. The Queen has provided our region with state-of-the-art medical care for over 50 years. Its newest venture, the Herman Family Pavilion, will offer some of the most progressive care in northern California. This premier 72,000-squarefoot facility will include a high-tech laboratory and pathology services center and six “smart” operating rooms, one of them a Hybrid Operating Suite, the current optimum integration of imaging and surgery. The entire third floor will be dedicated to intensive care and recovery, built according to the latest designs which have been proven to enhance patient outcomes. But leading-edge technology is costly. The project requires $10 million in additional funds to be completed. That’s why I am making a considerable contribution to Queen of the Valley. I encourage you to join me with a donation of your own and help us make this incredible facility a reality. Let’s not waste a moment. Visit www.queensfoundation.org or call (707) 257-4044.
