When Ron and his wife first opened Mario’s, they named the new store after their only son, Mario. “To me, the name ‘Mario’s’ symbolizes what the store is all about,” Ron says. “We’re a family-owned and family-run business, and we’re dedicated to treating each one of our customers like a friend of the family. So, when it came time to name the store, it was only natural to name it after my son. Also, I was born and raised here in St. Helena. I went to school here, and I’m proud to be part of this community. Naming the store after my son represents my long-term commitment to serving St. Helena—to giving back for all that I’ve received.” The business hired Nick Roman in 2005 as a sales person. In 2011, Nick took over as managing partner & buyer of Mario’s with Ron Sculatti. Nick has a background in sales and has been in the customer service industry for most of his life.
