t h e b e s t o f n a p a va l l ey l i f e • Best Diner Breakfast Napa Valley Biscuits, a Southern-style diner right on Main Street in downtown Napa. Everything they make is delicious and made with love. They also play great music as well—extra points for that! • Best Advic e Be yourself. Don’t conform to what others expect of you and you will ultimately earn their respect. • Best Napa Valey Secret Well, if I told it wouldn’t be a secret now, would it? Seriously, though, everyone deserves to be pampered, so I go to Greenhaus European Spa in downtown Napa for the ultimate stay-cation right here in our own beautiful backyard. • Best Napa Valey View On the balcony at Auberge du Soleil restaurant at twilight, with bubbles! Auberge du Soleil is a Napa Valley resort and hotel in Rutherford that has some of the most beautiful views. • Best Workout For something different than the typical gym experience, I love Studio Phyzz on Jordan Lane in Napa. Melanie rocks! • Best Newly Tasted Wine Sorry, Napa—I’m actually a bubbles girl! Napa Valley does have so many great wines to choose from, but anything from Judd’s Hill or Silver Oak wineries works for me. • Best Music Venue I give the Uptown Theater my vote. Have you checked out who is playing there, lately? Amazing musicians are coming! • Best place to take out-of-town guests The best place has got to be the Castello di Amorosa Winery in Calistoga via the Wine Train. If you have never taken the wine train, you must hop on with out-of-towners to enjoy a leisurely ride up the Valley. 80 www.nAPAVA L L E Y L I F E magaz ine. c o m • Best Lunch Spot/Picnic Spot Go get yourself the best tacos in town from C Casa, in the Oxbow Public Market. Then just wander outside and sit on their gorgeous lanai. They play good music and the food is yummy. A nice relaxing spot. • Best Art Galery There are so many amazing galleries! But I’m going to give Artists of the Valley my vote for featuring all local artists. Go check them out at 1307 First Street in downtown Napa. • Best Bakery For the fancier stuff—definitely Bouchon Bakery in Yountville. For a more down-to-earth but still great experience, Sweetie Pies in downtown Napa. • Best Book My pick is Napa Valley’s Jewish Heritage. When I first moved to Napa, I honestly thought no other Jewish people lived here! It is great fun reading about the rich history of the “Grape Jews.” • Best thing about Napa Valey For me, the food, of course! I’m a little obsessed with the Boon Fly Benedict from Boon Fly Café at the Carneros Inn, and anything from Tarla or Cole’s Chop House in Napa or Bottega in Yountville. Believe me, I could go on. • Best Radio Station The Vine! Okay, there’s only one, but it’s still the best! featuring Mindi Levine Radio Host, Drive Time with Mindi on the Vine, KVYN 99.3 Radio Marketing Director, CIty Winery by Sharon Ufberg
