This year will showcase 225 wines you can’t find anywhere else—each is uniquely crafted for Premiere and will be sold to just one lucky bidder on that day. These 60-, 120- and 240-bottle lots are some of the rarest wines made in Napa Valley. With 90% of them being from the 2012 vintage, the tasting also makes an excellent preview of wines coming into the marketplace. This is the village’s celebration of the year, featuring its signature street party with food, wine, art and music, plus other weekend happenings all over this charming town. yountville.com/events/taste-of-yountville-2 Saturday , February 8 9th Annual Extravaganza This concert, presented by Napa High School’s A Capella Group, boasts a one-of-a-kind line-up of high school, collegiate and professional groups. Recent Napa High alumni Emily Duncan, Patrick Fitzpatrick, Madi Lippmann and Eddie Ruane are “coming home” to perform as members of their respective collegiate groups: the all-female sensation “Vocal Motion” from the University of Santa Barbara, the co-ed groups “Naked Voices” from UC Santa Barbara and “Cloud 9” from UC Santa Cruz, and the co-ed “Deviant Voices” from UCLA. Also returning this year are the everpopular Men’s Octet from UC Berkeley. Headlining this year’s concert are “VoicePlay” and “Vocal Rush”—two immensely talented groups who recently appeared on NBC’s “The Sing-Off.” This will be Voiceplay’s second appearance at the extavaganza. Vocal Rush, a two-time national International Championship of High School A Cappella, is a co-ed ensemble based out of Oakland School for the Arts (OSA) and comprised of singers ages 15-18. Three of the Napa Valley Unified School District High Schools are also participating in this concert. Napa High School’s “Vocal Music Workshop” American Canyon High School’s “PDA” (Public Display of A Cappella) and the “Vocalettes” from Vintage High School. The concert will take place at the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center and Lincoln Theater at 7:30 pm.
