Contra Costa Marketplace - Nov 2015

Deb’s Dialog Editor’s Notes John Strohmeier don’t wait for the footage and photos to deteriorate! Time to preserve your videos and Debbie Ojeda, Owner ojedahouse@comcast.net November 2015 MARKETPLACEcontracosta.com 7 Here comes November! The holiday season is upon us and we’ll be busier than ever as the new year approaches. Of course this month means Thanksgiving. Every year I have a lot to be thankful for, and the first thing that comes to mind in 2015 is that my daughter and her family have moved closer to us. Orange County is a just a short flight away, and we’ll be spending our first Thanksgiving with them at their new home. I know how fast children grow up, and Deborah ludlow Stevens I look forward to seeing my grandsons more often during these special years. As always, I am also grateful to the readers and advertisers who support Marketplace Magazine. It’s been twenty years now that I have had the pleasure of helping people stay connected in West County. So thank you, and have a wonderful holiday season. Deborah This will be the fourth year that Marketplace features nonprofit organizations in our November issue. You’ll see stories here about three nonprofits that are helping local children learn, promoting local businesses and generating clean energy. Also, on pages 18 and 19 you’ll find our annual Give Local pages, with four organizations who are reaching out for your support. Think of them as you plan your holiday giving. If you are looking for ways to serve our community, take advantage of the volunteer opportunities they offer. Also in this issue you’ll find our monthly restaurant review, this time a story about the new Hornbill Burmese Restaurant in El Sobrante. The past two years have been remarkable for the number and quality of new restaurants opening all across West County. We have written about many, but there are even more that we have yet to visit. Something to look forward to, for sure. Thank you for reading Marketplace! John Special! +=+: (: 36> (: ,(CH with 6 or more transfers! 510-724-5197 www.savingmemories.org photos!
