GRILLed CHICKeN wITH AdoBo SAuCe Imagine enjoying an elegant dinner on a quiet outdoor patio overlooking the bay while watching a beautiful afternoon sunset, feeling that you’re miles away from everything. Now imagine this experience being only minutes from home. If this sounds appealing, then you must visit Leila by the Bay, Hercules’ newest fine dining restaurant which opened in August. Leila by the Bay not only boasts a serene location, but offers a tempting selection of menu items that are prepared fresh daily, a full bar featuring handcrafted cocktails, and friendly, and attentive customer service. Leila by the Bay is a family business established by brothers Sam and Moses Abu Ghosh, who are wellexperienced restaurateurs with over 30 years in the business. In addition to Leila by the Bay, they also are the owners of Café Leila located in Berkeley, and Sweet Joanna’s Café in San Francisco. Sam and Moses hail from a family of twelve children and are originally from Israel. They learned many of their culinary skills from their mother, Leila, who emphasized the importance of preparing only fresh foods made from scratch. Both Café Leila and Leila by the Bay are named as a tribute to their mother. Leila by the Bay is located at the former site of Sala Restaurant on Railroad Avenue near Santa Fe Avenue, in the vicinity of the Historic Homes Neighborhood of Hercules. Sam and Moses have completely renovated the facility.
