com TAy cAN gA (cHIceN RIce clAy PoT) owner Adrian Nguyen’s family has been in the restaurant business for 30 years. Adrian started cooking at the age of 10 when she helped her father cook and serve food from a small market in Viet Nam. She still loves to cook, and helps out in the kitchen at Huong Tra, when necessary. Her family migrated to the united States in 1984 and since that time, has owned and operated a Vietnamese restaurant in orlando, Florida. Adrian assumed ownership from the former owners of Huong Tra in 1998 soon after she married and moved to california, and has developed a loyal following of repeat customers. She runs the restaurant with the help of family members and friends, including her daughter, uyen, who also attends college locally. Adrian also has two high-school aged sons, Dominic and Daniel. She personally works at the business from morning to night six days a week, including shopping in the early mornings for many of the fresh ingredients used in the food preparation. The restaurant is closed on Sundays, and on major holidays such as Independence Day, Thanksgiving and christmas. Adrian is a passionate business owner, and enjoys visiting with her customers and soliciting comments and feedback. She and her staff are attentive and are happy to answer questions for those not familiar with Vietnamese cuisine. Huong Tra is a popular lunch spot for local businesses, does a dynamic dinner business every evening, and is also a popular take-out restaurant. Winter is a great time to visit Huong Tra for a hearty and satisfying Vietnamese meal or a steaming bowl of hot Pho on a cold or rainy day. When you go, check out the array of awards Huong Tra has received, which are prominently displayed near the counter, including Tripadvisor’s 2014 award for #1 Restaurant overall and #1 Vietnamese Restaurant in Richmond, and the A-list 2014 award for being among the top ten best Vietnamese Restaurants in the Bay Area. I’m sure you will enjoy Huong Tra and will add it to your list of favorite dining establishments, as I have. - Dining Out in Contra Costa - KIDS EAT FREE EVERY TUESDAY *Two kid’s meals with the purchase of any adult entrée at regular price.
