Contra Costa Marketplace - Feb 2016

ThE MEDITErrANEAN If you arrive early enough in the day, when there are still some left, you can try some of Jennifer’s housemade cookies – chocolate or butterscotch chip, or snickerdoodles. These soft, fragrant, roundish cookies look and taste nothing like your average store-bought. During our visit, Marc mentioned that one of the best parts of operating a place like the Mini Deli is that while the menu is consistent, the experimentation with soups, salads and sandwiches never stops. It’s not unusual for Jennifer to tweak her recipes, sometimes at the suggestion of customers. The same goes for the deli itself. Near-future changes include serving beer and wine, and upgrading the outdoor patio area to accommodate more customers. Check and see. These upgrades may already be in place by the time this story appears in Marketplace. Jennifer, Marco and their family have lived in several places in Northern California and now live a few blocks from the Mini Deli. Their goal is to create a comfortable neighborhood place to eat and socialize. With their combination of healthy, creative, satisfying cuisine and attentive hospitality, they are off to a promising start. 36 MARKETPLACEcontracosta.com february 2016 Mix Fajita Aguachile Campechano Camarones ala Diabla Tacos Culichis Chile Relleno Camaron Fajita Mix Aguachile Campechano Camarones ala Diabla Tacos Culichis Chile Relleno Camaron Fajita Mix Aguachile Campechano Camarones ala Diabla Tacos Culichis Chile Relleno Camaron Pozole Flan Shrimp Burrito Nachos Let us cater your next special event!
