Meeting place is staging area for Landfill Loop Trail at western end of Parr Blvd. 544-3260. December 13: Tenderloin Service Project & Dinner 6-9pm. Community members of all ages are invited to come help make a difference in the world. Enjoy a free soup supper and then help assemble Christmas sacks for the homeless and poor of the Tenderloin. If you’d like, you can bring tube socks, mittens, gloves, knit hats, or travel size toiletries for the sacks. We will also have activities for children. Meet at Christ the Lord Church, 592 Tennent Ave in Pinole (across from Fernandez Park). You are also welcome to help distribute the sacks on Dec. 14. Enjoy a West County tradition and visit the Shadi Holiday Display with family and friends. The folk art display of Bethlehem on Christmas Eve was created by Sundar Shadi as a gift of peace to the community. “Shepherds” will be on hand nightly to provide information – and candy canes for kids – at the lighted display site on the hillside below the Arlington on Moeser Lane in El Cerrito. www.shadiholidaydisplay.com . December 14 & 28: SAN PABLO HISTORICAL SOCIETY 12-4pm. The Alvarado Adobe, Blume House, and Bunk House are open for docent led tours. Both homes will be decorated for the holiday season. Explore the homes and learn about the December 11: EL CERITO GARDEN CLUB will hold its annual Christmas Luncheon 11:30am. This will be a lovely celebration in lieu of the regular general meeting.
