But as I write this month’s Dialog, I can’t help but to look back for a moment. This is the 20th time I have written a note to introduce an April issue of Marketplace. Twenty years is a long time! Perhaps I notice this now because a few days ago I came across a ten-yearold issue of Marketplace. As I re-read it, I wasn’t surprised to see that the magazine has changed over the Deborah ludlow Stevens years. In fact, I was more surprised to see how it has stayed the same. The same interest in West County events and local people making a difference. The same support of hometown businesses. And even many of the same advertisers! So once again, I want to thank our advertisers past and present, and our readers of course. And I look forward to continuing to celebrate and support the West County community we call home. Deborah This is the fourth year that a springtime issue of Marketplace has included the special Explore San Pablo section, produced in partnership with the San Pablo Economic Development Corporation. Each year as I work on this section, I discover something new, and am reminded of things the City of San Pablo can boast of. A few things stand out in my mind this year: the progress San Pablo is making John Strohmeier on its new library (page 22), the annual Culinary Caper fundraiser hosted by the Soroptomists at Rockefeller Lodge (Yum! page 54), and San Pablo’s world-famous cultural center and musical legend Los Cenzontles (page 25).
